George Frey, Superintendent of
Recreation and Parks, has announced that the Fair Lawn Senior Citizen
Center is open on Saturdays from
9 AM-3 PM for all Fair Lawn Senior Citizens to socialize and
recreate. Participants can engage in a variety or activities such
as cards, billiards, board games, bingo, reading, or just
socializing with others. No lunch will be served nor will there
be any transportation on Saturdays.
Frey stated that this program was sponsored by the Mental Health
Center in their building in which 25 people participated. But due
to cuts in funding they could not sponsor it anymore. The
Recreation Department met with the Mental Health representative
and agreed to adopt the program. Frey feels that the program will
expand greatly and that the people who will supervise Saturdays
will be a big asset to the Saturday participants.
