We've moved most of our gear to Camp 1 at 3000 metres and built 7 foot snow walls to protect the camp from high winds. It took us 5 hours to travel from Base Camp to Camp 1, but a mere 45 minutes to journey back down! Once back at camp, we reviewed avalanche rescue procedures - necessary skills in this environment!
