Digital Japanesque Project
A visual database of traditional Japanese aesthetics. It would introduce traditional Japanese culture and art through the World Wide Web. This "virtual museum" would classify Japanese painting, architecture, tools and handicrafts by the historical period, style, spiritual background, colour, and shape.
In the last few years, there have been some plans for a "digital archives" or a "digital museum" project, but as yet Digital Japanesque is the most concrete and global in its outlook. It would be the first to display Japanese traditional aesthetics and could establish itself on an international level.
