필리필의 수도 Manila 는 정확하게 말하면 Metro Manila의 행정단위의 하느이다.현제 Metro Manila는 Manila외에 Quezon, Pasay, Caloocan와 13개 도시로 구성되어 있다. 필리핀에는 7000개의 크고 작은 섬들이 있다. Manila는 그중에서 가장 큰 Luzon의 남새부에 위치하며 인구는 약186만명이다. 1571년 스페인의 식민지 거점으로 번영하고 1834년 개항에 의하여 국제무역이 활성화되어 극속히 발전했다.필리핀의 정치, 경제, 문화의 중심지이지만 1975년 Metro Manila가 탄생하여 도시기능이 주변도시에 분화화되었다. Manila중심에 Rizal공원이 있다. 필리핀의 독립운동가 Jose Rizal은 중상계급에 태여나고 의학박사 박위를 따는 한편 「NORI-ME-TANHERE」와 같은 소설을 발표하여 다채로운 발기했다. 유복한 집에 태여난 그는 운동에 소극적이었으나 차체로 민족의식에 싹 트어 1892년 온건파의 단체, 필리핀민족동맹을 결성하여 혁명운동에 힘을 넣었다. 무력혁명은 반대하였으나 무상봉기와 관계가 있다는 의심에 의하여 사형되었다.

Filipino newspaper in the U.S.A. A broad contents of politics, institute activities, world trends, arts, fashion, entertainment, forecasts, etc. Does not seem to be often updated.
