The Historic Road The "Historic Road" is designated as a historical monument by the Historical Site Preservation Committee with pedestrians being the major users instead of cars. This road is gradually being rejuvenated.

Town of the Kuras Old kuras have been relocated to a new area called the "Town of the Kuras."

Minami (South) Town This part of town was the former market district, with many shop kuras and distillery kuras. When the center of town moved west after the towns were consolidated under the Town Consolidation Act of 1875, the kuras were left standing. This is why so many kuras are found in this part of town.
