Progress report on Santa pages ...
bullet bullet bullet bullet

This is a brief status report on the 10/14 meeting and the current progress on the web pages.

So far, we've got a few ideas that will be ready for 10/14. Most have the audio all done, we're adding all the proper text information in and graphics:

1) "Christmas in our Village" is a 90-second song written by Marty with Corinne singing. Makes your heart strings tug. We also have a French Canadian carol which will be great.

2) "Rudolph's Kitchen" is a page describing Rudolph's cooking endeavors, including recipes for Moss Newtons and Algae Snaps. Little icons of "Santa, the Food Critic" have Santa (Luther) going "How about those Algae Snaps!" and "Rudolph is drooling all over the rug thinking about those Moss Newtons!"

3) TrueSanta Technology. Marty goes "Ho ho ho" in a weak, anemic voice, then we hear Luther doing the same. Experience our TrueSanta Technology!

4) About This Project: A page describing the project and how to participate as an end user or as a corporate sponsor.

5) Second Harvest. We've got the materials and will be able to put together a nice set of pages. They are nervous about approval and I'll work through those issues with them.

6) Talk to Santa, the Elves, and Rudolph. A forms-based interface into our wise-cracking auto-response mailbox.

More and more pages will be added until we release on Thanksgiving, but we'll have a nice solid mass ready for the initial rollout.

The meeting for 10/14 looks like it ought to be a hit. I talked to Will Hearst this morning and the Examiner is going to give us big coverage. I've talked to the New York Times, San Jose Mercury News, and KRON and all of them will probably be helping us get publicity. My hope is that with a proper sendoff, we can get the amount for charity up to $500,000 or even $1m.

Luther will be coordinating the "registering companies" process and will be able to work withy George on any PR-related issues. We're going to draft a press release later this week for your review.

Final issue is I'm working with Kennedy Center to see if we can add a live multicast of the Messiah. Hope to have confirmation by 10/14 on that issue as well.

Carl
