Susam (undried ginseng) is about 20% lower in price than in the neighboring Kyongdong Market and Paeksam (dried ginseng) is sold at a 8-10% lower price. The outlet provides grinding service for Paeksam.The price of Hongsam (electrically steamed and dried ginseng), specially treated by the Korea Ginseng Corporation is 10% lower than in normal markets.
The ginseng outlet, which occupies 30 p'yong (about 100m2), presents around 300 ginseng, including T'aeguksam (scalded and dried ginseng) and ginseng products, which means it has almost every ginseng imaginable. Customers who buy products here are offered another benefit.
They are given a free medical check at the Chohung and Hwalmyongdang Herbal Clinics, which are in cooperation with the Central Association of Ginseng Cooperatives, in the Kyongdong Herbal Medicine Shopping Street, along with discount service when they buy herbal medicine at the clinics.
The Central Association also runs a two-p'yong (about 7m2) shop to display and sell ginseng products on the 1st floor of the Association's building near the intersection to the north of the Olympic Bridge and near the Hyundai Apartment Complex in Kui-dong, Seoul.
