Mt. Songnisan National Park is one of the most spectacular natural wonders in Korea. It consists of peaks, such as Ch'onhwangbong (main peak ; 1,057 m), Ipsokdae Peak, Munjangdae Peak and Kyong-opdae Peak.

All of the peaks are more than 1,000 meters high and blend with deep valleys which make for breathtaking scenery.
In addition, various relics and natural monuments can be found in the area. Cherry blossoms in the spring, green pine trees in the summer and the autumn tints of trees overwhelm visitors. The antique charm of Popchusa Temple also adds to the beauty of this place.
Located at the center of the Korean peninsula, the National Park is easily reached from anywhere in the nation. Camping and cooking have been banned since Nov. 5 1990. Certain districts are designated as green zones or fire prevention areas subject to entry control. For details, please contact the National Park Management Authority.
