ĦĦĦĦMt. T'aebaeksan consists of 1,567 meter-high Changgunbong Peak and 1,546
meter-high
Munsubong Peak. It is one of Korea's three sacred mountains. On its summit
are Ch'onjedan Altar where religious services were held in the past, a monumental
pavilion dedicated to two Kings(Tanjong and Youngjong) of the Choson Dynasty. In the Tanggol Valley, one may see Tangunsongjon, a sacred shrine dedicated to Tangun, legendary founder of Korea. |
