Mt. Chirisan was designated as Korea's first
National Park in 1967 and is sometimes called by
the other names like "Pangjangsan" and "Turyusan."
Mt. Chirisan is one of the Korea's five most
famous mountains, as well as one of the Korean
peninsula's eight superb views. Korean have for thousand of years loved this splendid mountain as an object of folk. Renowned Buddhist temples, valleys, waterfalls and beautiful paeks over the three provinces of chollanam-do, chollabuk-do and Kyongsangnam-do form the 10 beauties of the park. The mountain has a great variety of animals and plants, especially of Korean tea in good quality. It originated here and the growing berbs remains active. |
