ĦĦĦĦMt. Sobaeksan is the principal mountain of the Sobaek Mountain Range. As one of the most celebrated 12 mountains in Korea, it was designated as a national park on Dec. 14, 1987. Consisting of Kukmangbong Peak (1,421 m), the highest Pirobong Peak (1,439 m) and Yonhwabong Peak (1,394 m), the mountain slopes steeply on the southeast side, but has a gentle slope on the northwest side. Groves of yew trees on Yonhwabong and Pirobong Peaks were designated as a natural monument. |
