ĦĦĦĦMt. Hallasan, located in the center of Cheju Island, is an extinct volcanic mountain. It is
1,950 meters high and on its summit sits Paengnoktam, a crater two kilometers in
circumference. The mountain is made of basalt. Beautiful valleys, rare rocks and a variety of forests which are found at different altitudes and some 1,800 species of flora grow. The park attracts visitors all year round with its azaleas and rape blossoms in the spring, red maples and colorful trees in autumn, and snow-covered landscape in winter. |
