Taekkyun

Martial is often thought as fierce and quick movements but "taekkyun" is a slow and soft movement of attack and defense. Most think "taekkyun" is the basis for "taekwondo" but these two are both different.

Taekkyun being the foundation for Koryo's and soldiers, is based on "truth". Characteristics of taekkyun is with these soft and delicate movements defense and attack could be done freely. The movements were like dances.

Badook

This game started 4000 years ago in China. This came to Korea and this was sent over to Japan. It is said that an emperor of China noting that his children were weak and dependent, invented this game to cultivate the mind. It is also said that the plate and stones for the game represents astrology and the power of yin and yang. This tells us that badook is highly cultural. Whoever fills in the most of the 361 squares is declared the winner. This game calls for concentration, deep thinking, judgement and patience.

Chang ki

This game was invented 4000 years ago in India and is known to have spread all over the world.
The game that passed from Persia to Europe is called chess and chang ki differs from every region.
It is not known when the game came into Korea but by seeing the inscriptions of "Han" and "Cho" (Chinese dynasties), it is thought to have brought 1800 years ago.

Although with modernized computers games around, chang ki is still popular among the people. There are many members in Korea Chang ki Association.

Housing

Man's first house was made by digging the earth, making wooden columns and covering it with leaves or animal hides.

Due to the development of human intelligence and the invention of bronze and iron, houses have become advanced.
