The Kyoto Pavilion homepage and all it contains are accessible from anywhere in the world, because they are located in a server machine set up in the Administrative Office of the Internet Expo Kyoto Pavilion Executive Committee and in the Expo Backbone Server (a server that forms the core of what links Expo pavilions from around the world with pavilions throughout Japan).
The Kyoto Pavilion Executive Committee Administrative Office serves as the relay between the group of experimental Hi-Band spots and the Backbone Server. The Administrative Office is connected to the Backbone Server via an optical communications cable that enables high-speed communication at 6 MB per second (about 200 times faster than normal phone lines).
Hi-Band Experimental Spots
A total of 14 Window's machines are installed at the Hi-Band experimental spots listed below. Visitors may use these facilities to freely view both Hi-Band and general homepage sites.
