IWE'96 Kyoto Pavilion

The human network that built the Kyoto Pavilion

Kyoto Pavilion original start-up group

@Members of the group that started the Kyoto Pavilion originally gathered together brimming with ideas and driven by the basic thought that "because it's internet, we can do it, too."
What "should" be done was not an issue when our work began rather, we focused on how far we could take the possibilities.
Each member of the start-up group used his/her personal time and expenses and brought his/her own strengths and individuality to the meetings, each willingly talking the responsibility for dealing seriously with whatever came to mind. Gradually, activities that could only come together as a whole with this kind of network community began to take on recognizable and realizable form.

@The members of this original group experienced many new things as they put their energy into linking Kyoto with the world.
Kyoto was rediscovered, so to speak, using leading-edge technology and the creativity of those participating. This, in turn, enabled us to view the world from a new vantage point, where we could see anew what makes the internet so fabulous how the internet reaches beyond local circumstances and viewpoints to stand atop the world stage.
Somewhere amid the repetitive cycle of members gathering together, taking home homework, then working things out over email, the desire to establish a formal "Kyoto Pavilion" began to mount. We approached various organizations and individuals, asking for the help and cooperation, and were able to finally form the Kyoto Pavilion Executive Committee.

@The Kyoto Pavilion is constantly changing, thanks to the participation of people like you in Kyoto and around the world. The scope and attention to detail found in the Kyoto Pavilion is growing, as it begins to create new means for organizing and exchanging information and continues to openly welcome new members.
Future activities and ventures depend on the planning and participation of new members this is no exaggeration.
With this as the premise, your participation in the Kyoto Pavilion Executive Committee is always welcome, as we all attempt to share in the success of the Kyoto Pavilion and Internet Expo '96.
Join us now!Participate in the Kyoto Pavilion!
