My sister was preparing A-Level Biology exam in Hong Kong and she had a cage of very cute mice, each mouse ready for dissection (ouch)! Since it was expensive to buy mice (I mean white mice, not street rats, which you can find everywhere in Hong Kong), she put a couple into a separate cage and a few weeks later one was pregnant. Mice are amazing animals.
