Carl,
The committie didn't really advertise the path "//park.org/Japan" officially. What they are advertising is "//park.org/". It is probably my fault that I did not include a notice that the path //park.org/Japan will only be effective when our mirroring system is up and running in my "how to prepare contents" note to content creators that we are going to use /Japan and subsidary directories. After all, it's so easy to imagine that they show that document to their boss, and somewhere up higher in the hierarchy they start advertising absolute path to their own pavillions.
Now, let me explain our setup.
We have what we call a staging server where all content creators initially upload their contents and make things ready before they show up in the real expo. We thought this setup will be better than giving them real CP server accounts. You can pull the contents from this server.
As I explained in the messages we've exchanged last year, the staging server is also temporary and is at workplace.jaist.ac.jp [150.65.32.3]. The address and the name of the staging server will change if Japanese railroad ever makes it to my site.
You have an skey account 'expo96' in the staging server with password we've exchanged at Dallas. Please feel free to send me a new entry using donkey.
The staging server has server root at /stage/htdocs, and have several directories underneath, but ./Japan and ./cgi-bin/Japan is where you need to pull.
The staging server is also running ncsa httpd for verification purposes for the content creators, so you can also have an option of checking out a particular pavillion pulling them in.
As a temporary procedure until our KDD server start operating as a real CP server, I'm copying updated materials from the staging server to the KDD server. Tell me when the KDD server is ready as a CP server, then I'll make mirrored contents visible and will stop this temporary copy procedure.
