Telecommunications is a difficult area to concisely present, since there are so many different definitions for telecommunications and so much covered under many of these definitions.

The broad definition has all types of communication at a distance, as well as all types of information and transaction systems which involve transfer of information over any distance. This would include activities that are currently thought of as being part of telephones, on-line information services, the Internet, and shopping by phone, as well as a host of services which are only now evolving.

Because of the rapidly evolving nature of this area, the organization of this section will be in continual flux for the foreseeable future. We will try to arrange it, however, so that the information which is of current interest can be easily found, and so that the overall site is easily browsable and searchable. Suggestions from users are always welcome.
