In Newcastle, in the northern part of England, an event called the <<Digital Dream 4: Across Two Cultures>> will be held for 3 days, from November 15 through 17. This event consisting of 5 symposiums, 6 artists' talks, video screening, workshops by artists, and techno/media art exhibitions held in various areas of Newcastle, will probably be one of the largest events of this type in England for the second half of this year. The "two cultures" here indicate the famous classification suggested by C. P. Snow, "art" and "science". Recently, there is a trend in which the concepts of this type of event become subdivided, and frankly speaking, it may be difficult for this vast theme to create a characteristic style exclusive to this event. Participating artists/groups in the exhibition are Jane Prophet, Conford & Cross, Anton Hecht, Simon Robertshaw, and Knowbotic Research. Related exhibitions are also held at galleries around this site, such as the Laing Art Gallery and Zone Gallery. From Japan, Dumb Type is participating in a symposium, and Yoshinori Tsuda is participating in a related exhibition.
