Router for Taiwan
bullet bullet bullet bullet

Hi there,

Carl forwarded the message below from you. This looks like a good design. For the router I will need some info on the addressing and things of this network and also some administrative info:

- do you have the network number to be used for the network with the 7000, the Bay router and the Expo server on it? If so, what would be the host addresses for these machines?

- do you have an Autonomous System number for the expo part of this network? If so, what is it?

- do you have a more detailed picture than the one below showing the routing plan between the 7000 and the Bay router (OSPF vs BGP or whatever else you have in mind). If these two are in the same AS, OSPF would be the preferred solution. If they are in different ASes (which is what I prefer) we should use BGP to communicate between the Bay and Cisco router.

- the DSU you will use for the EXPO DS1, what kind of connector will it have for the router, X.21 or V.25? This is so I can ship the correct cable.

- what would be the exact shipping address for the router? I will need a contact person with telephone number as well.

What I will do is when I get the above configuration is prepare a router with this configuration for you. Once that is done I will get our export department to do all the paperwork needed to get this router into Taiwan. Because I am on a completely different timezone, I will try and get out contact in Tokyo to help you if there are any problems with the router. Also our technical response center in Sydney, Australia has indicated that they are happy to respond to any questions you may have about the router.

Please let me know the above as soon as possible, so I can set the wheels in motion to get this router to you.

Thanks,

-Marten
