Here and there in the path of the earth's orbit around the sun
are swarms of dust particles left behind by comets.
The phenomenon known as a shooting star
occurs when the earth's orbit carries it through areas full of particles,
which burn up in the upper atmosphere.
Seen from the surface of the earth,
the burning particles take on the appearance of shooting stars.
Dust particles range in diameter from several millimeters to several centimeters.
Beautiful shooting stars are really just dynamic movements in the heavens.
