But this is not the end of the story of the birth of the God of Fire. Kagutsuchi was killed by his father Izanagi in his despair over the death of Izanami. And from Kagutsuchi's blood were born eight powerful gods who had various strengths, such as the power to crack rocks, to tear roots and to wield wild thunder like force. And from his head, chest, abdomen, genitals, arms and legs were born eight more gods, all related to mountains. In other words, the God of Fire was killed by the God of Creation and then reborn as sixteen other deities. This tale, too, symbolizes volcanic force and the formation of the land.
