Hard-boiled Kimchi and Mackerel



Mackerels are often hard-boiled to make a nutritious side dish. It is easy to cook. Add kimchi for a fresh flavor.



Materials(makes for four) and Precooking


2 mackerels
1/2 head Chinese Cabbage Kimchi
4 green chilies
2 red chilies
2 sheaths scallion
1/2 bulb garlic
1 spoon each ground red chili, salad oil
a small amount of salt
mackerels remove guts and wash. Cut at slanted angles into 4cm (1 1/2 inch) pieces.
kimchi Cut into 4cm pieces without cleaning the leaves of stuffing.
red and green chilies Cut at slanted angles into small pieces.
scallion clean and cut at slanted angles.
garlic wash and mince.
  1. Some of the materials and most of the wares actually needed are not included in the materials list, assuming they are readily available in any home.
  2. Metric values are approximated into pounds and inches, as they are not absolutes.

Cooking
  1. Apply oil to a saucepan and roast kimchi.
  2. Pour water in the pan until roasted kimchi is completely immersed. Add salt and put in mackerels. When the fish is half-cooked, adjust the fire down to medium.
  3. Add scallion, minced garlic, chili and ground chili when it boils.
