Vinh Nghiem Pagoda was begun built in April 1964 and completed in 1973 on a swampy river bed of which area is 8,000 m2. The Pagoda is noteworthy for its vast sanctuary and eight-storey tower, each level of which contains a statue. These statues are of the Buddhas. Behind the sanctuary is a three-storey tower which serves as a repository for carefully labelled ceramic urns containing ashes of people who have been cremated.
