Construction of tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh who ruled 1916 - 1925 was begun in 1920 and completed in 1931. The tomb, 10 km from Hue City is on the Chau E mountain.The architecture is a synthesis of European & Vietnamese elements. After climbing 36 steps between 4 dragon banisters you get to the 1st court- yard.The Honour Courtyard is 26 steps further up. Up 3 more flights of stairs the main building - Thien Dinh where is set the statue of Emperor Khai Dinh.
