REUNIFICATION(THONG NHAT) MEETING HALL (INDEPENDENCE PALACE)

• Description:

  On this land used to be the Palace of Norodom, the construction of whichs was begun in 1868 & completed in 1873. from 1954 to 1975 the presidents of the South of Vietnam lived here. In february 1963 an air force officer bombed it. The Palace was heavily damaged and a new Palace was constructed from 1963 to 1966. On 30th April 1975, the cabinet of the Government of the South of Viet- nam unconditionally surrendered & the Palace belongs the Government of S.R.V.
