Hoa Lu was the capital of Vietnam under the Dinh Dynasty (ruled 968 to 980) & the Early Le Dynasty (ruled 980 to 1009). It was established by Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang. Today, there are two sanctuaries at Hoa Lu. One is dedicated to the Dinh Dynasty. Out the front is the stone pedestal of a royal throne; inside are bronze bells and a statue of Emperor Dinh Tien with his 3 sons. The 2nd temple is dedicated King Le Dai Hanh
