The General Department of Customs is responsible for conducting the tasks defined in the Ordinance on Customs dated february 20th, 1990 and the following concrete tasks and powers :
Departments of Customs belonged to the General Department of Customs. Based on the planning of customs network approved by the Prime Minister, at border gates, international sea ports, post offices serving foreigners, control areas of customs in borders, sea shores, river ports, territorial waters, areas next to territorial waters, export processing zones border gate customs teams or customs controlling teams may be established, who will work under the leadership of the Department of Customs.
The establishment, dissolution, merge of provincial, inter -provincial Departments of Customs must be approved by the Prime Minister according to the proposal of the Head of the General Department of Customs and appraisal of the Head of Minister - Chairman of the Department of Personnel and Organization of the Government.
The establishment of border gate customs or customs controlling teams must be decided by the Head of the General Department of Customs according to the planning of customs network approved by the Prime Minister.
