The Ministry of Labour, War invalids, Social Affairs is the governmental agency to perform the function of State management in the field of labor, war invalids and social affairs.

The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs performs the tasks, powers of ministries, ministerial level defined in Decree No. 15/CP date March 2nd, 1993 of the Government, and the following concrete tasks and powers :

• 1. To draw up and submit to the Government to issue policies, procedures regulated labor relations such as salary, allowance, social insurance, labor protection, working conditions, disputes raised from labor and other labor relations; labour places creating; people's migration to new economic areas; labor force migrating to work abroad or in foreign organizations in Vietnam; policies applied to war invalids, deads' families; granting aids and guide to implement the regulations of the Government on the above-said matters.
• 2. To host the co-ordination with other related Ministries to manage projects on new economic areas and State financial sources invested to people's migration to new economic areas.
• 3. To co-ordinate with other organizations to submit to the Government for decisions on policies, methods to solve the social evils such as prostitution, drugs ...
• 4. To organize and guide the implementation of taking care of war invalids, war patients, old relatives of war invalids and deads.
• 5. To host the co-ordination with the Ministries, agencies belonged to the Government , Provincial people's committees to guide the establishment of social funds, movements of assistance of people enjoying the social policies.
