  The Ministry of forestry is the governmental agency to perform the State management in forest management, protection, construction, development and usage.

  The Ministry of forestry performs the State management in forest protection and development according to the regulations in the Law on forest protection and development, to performs the tasks, powers and responsibilities on State management of Ministries, ministerial level agencies defined in Decree No.15/CP dated March 2nd, 1993 of the Government, and the following concrete tasks and powers :

  • 1. To submit to the Government planning, plans of management and development of all kinds of forests such as defensive forests,specialized forests, productive forests; planning and plans of exploitation, processing, reasonable usage of forestry products, forestry animals; the national and inter-provincial programs, projects on forestry, including forest planting to cover bare hills , on rare, precious plants, animals' protection and development; to follow and control the implementation of the above said projects and policies after the approval of the Government and the Prime Minister acquired.
  • 2. To submit to the Government for decision on annual plans of woods, forestry products exploitation, policies and systems on forest and land forest protection, management, development; to organize the implementation of the above-said plans, policies.
  • 3. To draw up and issue the procedures, policies, economical, technical norms on forest planting, exploiting; to grant or to withdraw the concerning licenses
  • 4. To organize the forestry supervision on forestry products' management, protection, usage.
