Tanshui River Mangrove Nature Preserve is near thr mouth of theTanshui River in far northern Taiwan. A typical estuary ecosystem, two thirds of the 76 hectares is under water at high tide. The mangrove Kandelia shrub is the dominant plant species, and the area is attractive to bothresident and migrating birds.
