Taiwan Keteleeria is a pine-like tree endemic to the island. Designated as a rare flora, the Pinlin Taiwan Keteleeria Nature Preserve is the northern distribution area for the tree. While preserve status protects the approximately 200 mature trees, natural replacement by young seedlings is not occurring, and other lands may have to be chosen for renewal growth of this rare plant.
