The ROC government has invested US$4.26 million in subsidizing the
research and development of key components and innovative technical products.

With governmental help, 55 research projects have been contracted and
executed jointly by the academic and industrial sectors over the past two
years. Eight of these projects have resulted in the successful transfer of
technology to the industrial sector.

Following the establishment of the Hsinchu Science-Based Industrial
Park, efforts are now focusing on the Tainan Science-Based Industrial Park,
located in Tainan County, in order to accelerate the development of the
high-tech manufacturing industry.
