Anonymous, Ch'ing dynasty (A.D. 1644 1911)
Embroidery. Hanging scroll in satin. 67.3 x 34.9 cm.
Depicted here is a cassia tree and a variety of mixed flowers representative of autumn and three fantastic rocks capped with blue. A poetic inscription by Chi Huang is embroidered in the upper left corner. The begonia petals have been embroidered with tiny pearls, which is the so-called "Bejewelled Embroidery" technique.
