Carved miniature ivory landscape, dated A.D. 1739 by Huang Chen-hsiao

A carved ivory riverside landscape with mountains, figures, pavilions, and small bridges. There are thirty-four figures and nine boats. The carving is very tiny, and bears an inscription on the mountain top indicating that this piece was made by Huang Chen-hsiao in the year Chi-wei (1739) of the Ch'ien-lung emperor's reign.
