Carved chieh-nan-wood kuang vessel with dragon-and-phoenix motif

An imitation of ancient bronze kuang vessel with a small flat base. The piece is decorated with a spiral-patterned dragon intertwined with a phoenix in relief carving. A four-character Ch'ien-lung reign-mark is carved at the mouth rim. Chieh-nan is a type of precious, flagrant wood.
