Covered bowl with Indian-lotus motif in champleve enamel
Ch'ing dynasty, Ch'ien-lung period (A.D. 1736 1795)
Height: 8.3 cm Diameter: 10.8 cm
This bowl has an everted mouth and a ring foot. The vessel has an open-knob cover. The cover surface and the bowl are both decorated with Indian-lotus motif. The flowers are in red and blue and the leaves in green, all against a yellow-gold background patterned by horizontal lines. On the under-side there is a four-character Ch'ien-lung reign-mark.
