Square hu in painted enamel
Ch'ing dynasty, K'ang-hsi period (A.D. 1662 1722)
Height: 8.8 cm Length: 14.5 cm Width: 7.4 cm
The body of this piece is square, with broad sloping shoulders and smaller base and cover. A peony decor in polychrome enamels is set against a yellow background. On the base in red regular script is inscribed the K'ang-hsi reign-mark.
