Pi disk

Warring States period to Western Hart dynasty (475 B.C. - A.D. 9)
Diameter: 26.4 cm Thickness: 0.65 cm

The soft round disk was always appealing to the Chinese, remaining a popular shape throughout history. Ham-dynasty disks are typified by the presence of decorations. This disk has two different pattern designs, the inner circle being covered with comma-patterns, and the outer circle decorated with split-body serpents bearing frontal heads. Jade disks such as this were either gifts or funerary items.
