This funnel is made in the shape of a chrysanthemum and is decorated with underglaze-blue motifs on both the interior and the exterior; there is a Hsuan-te reign-mark inscribed on the outside of the mouth-rim.
The underglaze-blue wares of the Hsuan-te period display a wide variety of forms and a rich range of decorative motifs; these were the outstanding porcelains of the Ming dynasty.
