The black-glazed wares produced in Chi-chou .are not pure black, but actually have a dark brownish tinge. Besides leaves, various paper-cut designs were used as decorative motifs in this ware. The firing-techniques of Chi-chou wares were strongly influenced by those of Ting and Tzu-chou wares.
