Among Chinese porcelains, Lung-ch'uan ware was exported to tire West in the greatest numbers and has become famous throughout the world under the name of "celadon."
This vessel's shape imitates that of a il, an ancient bronze-vessel type; it displays beautiful flowing lines, and the thick, brilliant glaze gives it the appearance of lustrous green jade.
