Dear Mr. Malamud:
We commend your efforts and initiative in organising the Internet 1996 World Exposition. This is the sort of exciting and bold idea we need to galvanise global information infrastructure activities.
The Internet 1996 World Exposition resonates well with Singapore's own IT2000 Plan. This is our vision of an Intelligent Island where virtually every home, school, office and factory will be able to tap into vast reservoirs of electronically stored information and services to improve their business and to enhance their personal, social, recreational, and leisure options.
The Internet 1996 World Exposition will provide the focus and impetus to the diverse programmes promoting the use of our information infrastructure.
You can certainly count on Singapore's support. The Singapore National Computer Board will organise our private and public sector organisations to support and contribute to the event.
With best wishes for a successful Internet 1996 World Exposition.
Yours sincerely,
RAdm (NS) Teo Chee Hean
Chairman
National Information Technology Committee
