The classification of a cow starts with determinig the stature in cms. The stature is measured with a stick at the middle of the rump (between hipbones).

Stature is the only conformation trait which is measured, the other descriptive traits are scored linearly and objectively on a scale from 1 to 9 according to the recommendations of the World Friesian Federation for Black-and-White Bread Societies.
