We are flying by helicopter from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam, along the river Amstel. Our approach to the historic city center is from the South-West. The 'yellow' skyscraper in the foreground is the 'Nederlandse Bank'.

Making a sharp bend to the West, you get a clear view of three famous canals. The Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht and Herengracht.

The old Jordaan quarter can be seen below.

Now, let us fly to the IJ river, in the North.
