    The making of the minimovies..

    This sequence of Internet Minimovies was created by ARCHIGRAPH & DdO from a 'master animation', resolution 640x480 pixels, 225 MegaByte diskspace, 16.7 mil. colors, 652 frames, 24 frames/second.

    Sunshine and shading The realistic and dynamic shading plus the continuously changing brightness of the daylight are the result of an average solar orbit (East-West) over Amsterdam.

    Other technicall stuff.. Rendering time of the 'master' was 6 hours on a Risc based cpu with 64 MegaBytes of Ram.

    As subsets were created high- and low-bandwidth Internet minimovies for Netscape 2.0, based on 'animated' Gif 89a specifications.

    The 'high bandwidth' minimovies are approx. 48 frames and 500 KB each, 320x178 resolution, 256 colors, no delays between the frames.
    The 'low bandwidth' minimovies are approx. 24 frames and 175 KB each, 160x89 resolution, 256 colors, plus 36 msec. delays added between the frames, except the (160*89) Larmag animation.

    		Availability

    The complete 652 frame movie is available on CD-Rom and on Iomega Jaz removable harddisk (1 GB) in several formats (e.g. Quick Time, Gif89a, etc.) up to 72 MB for 640x480 resolution. and 22 MBytes, 320x178 resolution (Quick Time). Also included are:

  • all frames in Targa and Jpeg format (16.7 m.col)
  • 2 other movies 'around' Amsterdam
  • one of these including 'sound'
  • ...and much more.
    Viewers are included. Some viewers offer user- interactivty to speedup and/or slow down the animation via the cursor buttons.
