UNDERSTANDING NATURE

To better understand nature, the exhibition hall(first floor, 1280m) displays approximately 500 exhibits. The purpose of the display is to give information about the natural science which are divided into earth science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and oyhers. In the earth science section, the apparatus of the dislocation experiment and a meteorological satellite model are displayed in order to enable greater understanding of the phonomena and chracteristics of the earth. To promote mathematical understanding, the Mibius band and the history of number are included in the mathematics section. Laser holography, a piezo sensor and a display explaining the movement of the ball are exhibited in the Physics corner in order to present physical phenomena.

    Crystal of Snow

A crystal of snow can have various types of hexagonal crystais based on the formulation conditions. The different types of snow crystals display the regularity & beauty of each various structure.

    Model for Meteorological Satellite (GMS-4)

    Mobius Band

The mobius band is a one-edged geometric surface with only one continuous side, formed by giving a 180 twist to a narrow, rectangular band of paper and connecting the two ends together.

    Laser Holography

The basic principles of lasers and holograms in which photographic plates contain a three-dimensional record of the interference pattern are explained by diagram and experimental apparatus.

    Gyro Experiment

The spinning body has a rotating inertia which keeps the originak rotation. This display presents the gyroscopic principle and its application.

    foucault's Pendulum

This pendulum was used for verifing the raeth's rotation around its axis. The origial pendulum consisted of a 67m steel wire which was connected to the ceiling of a Pantheon temple. Here, 19m long with 110kg weight to simulate the original model, this pendulum takes 40,48 hours for one revolution.

    Simple Molecular Structyre

A model of a simple molecular structure is displayed. The molecule, which is the smallest particle of an element that ratains the characteristics of the material, consist of different kinds of atoms in different arrays.

    Transparent Man

The human body is the most perfect factory, with more complicated mechanisms than any other precision machine. It consist of the muscular, digestive, circulatory, respiratory, urinary, reproductive, endocrine, nervous, sensory, and skeletal system. The exhibits are designed to enable an inner view into the mechanisms of the body and to persent a description of the functions and structures of various internal organs.

Challenges to Genetic Engineering and Micro Biology

A model of D.N.A., the principles of genetic engineering, the menufacturing process of interferon and the process of protain synthesis are dispalyed to enable understanding of the nature of life and the theories of genetic engineering. Genetic engineering provides many practical applications and infinite possibilities for the future.
