• To avoid heavy traffic it's best to know a few pointers. Avoid areas near wedding halls on Saturdays, department stores during sale time, parks on Children's Day, and on College Entrance exam days.

If you want to travel outside of Seoul, it's best to go by railroad. On weekends heavy traffic is expected on expressways so it is convenient to use public transportation.

On weekends, bus-only lanes are at hand so it is wise to take the express bus.

In Seoul, there is the Kangnam Express Bus Terminal and if you prefer taking the train, use seoul Station or Youndungpo Station.

  • 'Bus Only' Lanes

There are "bus only" lanes along the main roads in Korea. This was set up by the government in order to lighten the traffic of personal driven cars. They are great for bus riders as traffic jams don't affect these lanes.

  • 'Car-pool' System

The Car-pool system was introduced by the Korean government. Like in any other country, where people have to go in the same direction, it is advised that they drive together. If a car has more than 2 passengers, it will not be asked to pay the toll.
