TRADITIONAL KOREA
Ancient music of Korea, like those of other countries, was
presumably born from religious ceremonies. Instruments were made
primary in the days when Korean peninsula was divided into 3 nations.
People played KOMUNGO(an original stringed instrument in Korea, which is
very close to KOTO) and created Wang-Sun-Aki music.
Buddhist music became popular in the era of KORAI empire, and in
the Korean era, both court music and popular music started to grow.
In the present, the Korean National Concert Hall inherits the
tradition.
