Overview
Thailand lays down on the East part of Indosina peninsula: it is next to Myanmar on the East; Malaysia on the South; Laos on the Northeast; and, Cambodia on the Southeast. It has a typical tropical climate; the climate is divided into two seasons--rainy season and dry season.

As history tells, most of countries in Southeast Asia once have been colonies of Western Powers. However, Kingdom of Thailand is a rare example of countries which has kept its independence since from the foundation in 13th century. Therefore, ruling family still is quite familier to the nation; and, it gains the nation's respect and worship. There is one more thing which is familier to the Thai; that is Buddhism. Buddhism has strong influence on the way people think, society, culture, etc. Also, even though Thailand is a rich farmland; after 1960s, by driving the plan of economic social development and agriculture as a base, it has propulsed industrialization. Thailand has achieved rapid economic growth since 1980s; and, it is viewed that Thailand would soon be a member of NIES.
